Privacy Policy

Varidian is a free browser-based MMORPG available at varidiangame.com (also accessible via vmmo.me, a redirect operated by the same developer). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what we do not do with it.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to operate the game:

• Username — chosen by you at registration. No email address is required.
• Password — stored as a one-way cryptographic hash. We cannot read your password.
• Game state — character position, skills, inventory, appearance, and progression saved server-side to persist between sessions.
• IP address — captured at connection time for security purposes. Not stored in association with your account long-term.
• Discord ID — only if you voluntarily link your Discord account via our bot. Linking grants access to the Varidian Discord community for chat, feedback, and suggestions, and enables account recovery. Entirely optional.

Discord requires users to meet their minimum age requirements. By linking a Discord account, the user has already confirmed eligibility with Discord directly. If a linked Discord account is banned by Discord for age-related violations, the Discord link will be removed from the associated Varidian account and that account's public chat history will be scrubbed. The account may re-link Discord once a Discord account in good standing is available.

2. Browser Storage

The game client stores data in your browser's localStorage to operate the game. This includes your username, a session token used to keep you logged in, character appearance preferences, and general game state. Crash and error information is buffered locally and sent to our server only in the event of a crash to aid debugging.

All of this data remains on your device. None of it is transmitted to our servers except through normal gameplay or the crash reporting described above.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and maintain your game account
• To restore your game state between play sessions
• To provide account recovery if you have linked Discord
• To debug crashes and improve stability

4. What We Do Not Do

• We do not collect email addresses
• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties
• We do not use third-party advertising networks or tracking pixels
• We do not run third-party analytics services on our game client

5. Security

Connections to Varidian are encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, though no system is perfectly secure.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the game evolves. Material changes will be announced in our Discord server. The effective date above reflects the most recent revision.

Varidian is currently free to play. If premium membership features are introduced in the future, this policy will be updated to reflect any new data practices prior to launch.
